Every knitter and/or crocheter has a favorite stitch reference guide.  I recently had a conniption fit when I couldn’t find mine.  I have a rather healthy collection of books on practically everything.  Yes, I’m one of those people.  I enjoy reading about all things, or at the very least, having a reference book for when I want to know more on a subject.  Again, yes, I know what Google is, but it does me no good when the power is out, and my urge to know something is in full swing.

But, anyway, back to my conniption fit.  I have this stitch dictionary that I found in a junk shop 15 years ago.  That was the best 25 cents I have ever spent!!!  The dictionary?  This one:

Mon Tricot Knitting Dictionay, (c)1972

Mon Tricot Knitting Dictionay, (c)1972

As you can see, I did finally find it hidden in one of my many bookcases.  It just happened to be one I had already looked in three other times in the pursuit of this book.  Go ahead and laugh.  You’ve “been there, done that” too.

Out of curiosity, I went to Amazon’s online book store to see what a replacement copy might cost me.  My jaw dropped, then I started laughing at the absurdity of the only copy there and its price tag.  Are you ready?  $158.90 No kidding.  Like I said, best 25 cents EVER!!!
