irish_moss_stitch_webThis is the stitch pattern from episode 14 of YaT.  It is similar to the Rice stitch, also known as the Moss stitch.  The visual difference is that Moss is a vertical and horizontal grid  while the Irish Moss is a diagonal grid.  Enjoy.

Irish Moss Pattern

Multiple of 2

Row 1: K1 P1 across your area.

Row 2 (and all alternate rows): K the P and P the K stitches across the area

Row 3: P1 K1 across the area.

Helpful note: If you forget which line you are working in the pattern (row 1 or 3), just look at the beginning stitch.  If it is P, then you are working row 3.  If it is K, the you are working row 1.
